BTS’ “DNA” has scored 500 million views, lengthening its reign as the most watched music video for any Korean group and becoming the first music video by a Korean group to reach the half of a billion mark. “DNA” is also the most-viewed music video for a K-Pop act, the second most viewed video being “FIRE,” another BTS title track, making it clear that “DNA” is not merely fluke in the BTS narrative, but a powerhouse of BTS’ artistry.
“DNA” was released one year and one day ago and averages more than one million views a day. Because of its sales, “DNA” is one of three BTS songscertified Gold by the RIAA.
Billboard ranked the “fizzy, candy-coated EDM” track No. 49 on its 2017 list of “100 Best songs of 2017” and “DNA” slid also into the charts’ “100 Greatest Boy Band Songs of All Time” list, equally at No. 49.
